Today we’re sharing all the details from Leila and Erik’s modern and colorful Downtown LA wedding as featured recently on 100 Layer Cake! A traditional white wedding would not do for this fun-loving, trend-setting, modern day couple. Instead we chose a bright color palette and lively florals mixed with modern geometric patterns set against the backdrop of abundant greenery at the industrial event space, Millwick. Not ones for tradition, Leila and Erik walked each other down the aisle while their guests, pausing from the pre-ceremony cocktail party that was already underway, turned to face the ceremony while continuing to relax in their cozy lounge vignettes. The delightful assortment of offerings at Haute Chefs’ mezze station was just as colorful as the floral arrangements from Honey & Poppies. Guests were delighted by a bevy of surprise touches: an escort card installation designed by Prim & Pixie with a secret pocket holding a polaroid of each guest; a whiskey tasting station from Pharmacie tucked into a hidden nook that guests discovered after dinner; and a surprise cotton candy cart—Leila’s favorite—that Erik brought in especially for his bride.

Leila and Erik wrote their own rule book for their perfect day and danced to their own beat—provided by their professional DJ friends, of course — and it was 100% THEM, just as it should be! Enjoy the pretty pics from Max Wanger of Max & Friends.
