Jackie and Matt are a truly fun-loving couple with so much history together. A special story of their meeting at the AIDS LifeCycle bike ride became the inspiration behind many of the design ideas for the day. We worked with the couple to incorporate many of their favorite things to make their wedding day feel personal and special.
Jackie loves all things rose gold, so it was no question that it would be incorporated into the wedding color palette. Beautiful arrangements from Peony & Plum incorporated feminine pinks and lush greenery. To keep things from getting too pink, we offset the feminine color with sophisticated neutrals of grey and cream and natural finishes like an exposed wooden chuppah and dinner tables.
One of our favorite elements to curate was their welcome boxes. They wanted guests to be pampered from the moment they arrived for the wedding weekend. Custom labels were added to water bottles and snacks, including Matt’s favorite treat — black and white cookies — and Jackie’s favorite — salty chips.
The bicycle became an important design element after we learned of how they met on a charity bike ride. We worked with Prim & Pixie, who developed a bicycle logo that was placed on a number of paper goods. We also designed a non-traditional bicycle wheel escort installation to appeal to Matt’s artsy side and once again to pay homage to their fateful meeting. Rather than offering guests traditional favors, Jackie and Matt chose to make a donation to the AIDS/LifeCycle organization in their guests’ honor. We commemorated this with an oversized sign and flower-bombed beach cruiser.
An intimate family style dinner from Whoa Nelly and custom curated cocktails from The Whaling Club made the event feel intimate and perfectly in line with the couple’s style.
